It is the laugh people notice first. Open, generous and more than a little contagious, Nancy's laugh carries across a restaurant and makes neighbouring tables smile along without quite knowing why. Then the rest of the picture comes into focus: golden blonde hair worn long, and eyes of a clear, bright blue.

She is 30 and 170 cm, curvy, with a look she calls golden-hour beach glamour: sun-warmed tones, easy silhouettes and gold jewellery that catches every light in the room. Sunny, energetic and wonderfully easygoing, she treats each evening like the first night of a holiday. She has no interest in pretending to be anyone else, and that honesty makes her instantly easy to be around.

Swimming is her daily reset. She gets into the water whenever her schedule allows, a habit shared with fellow swimmer Violetta. Road trips are her favourite adventure format: a full tank, a good playlist and no fixed destination. She collects stories from every one of them, and she tells them brilliantly, with sound effects when the moment calls for it. Her favourite detours are the unplanned ones: a hand-painted sign, a village festival, a view worth pulling over for.

Dinner with Nancy almost always means sushi if she gets a vote. She loves a counter seat where she can watch the chef work, and she is happy to talk you through her favourite nigiri one piece at a time. From her home in Oud-Zuid, the leafy streets by the Vondelpark and the smart restaurants of the Beethovenstraat are all within easy reach.
